Downer’s partnership with the Black Ferns, Black Ferns Sevens and Māori All Blacks for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 rugby season, is a commitment to supporting the development of non-traditional sport teams. Partnering with the New Zealand Rugby Union was a natural fit as leaders representing New Zealand at the highest global standards.
Downer is the first ever partner to champion all three teams, creating a boost for both women’s and Māori rugby. This partnership is founded on a core set of values held by both organisations including the celebration of diversity, inclusion of all cultures, people, gender, investment in high performance and investment in the mental and physical well-being of our people. These teams make a significant contribution to both women’s sport and our unique cultural heritage and we are proud to be a part of this journey.
