RMLA and Clontarf Foundation
In 2015, Spotless launched its partnership with Role Models and Leaders Australia (RMLA) and the Clontarf Foundation, supporting their national academy programs. Spotless has direct relationships with the Clontarf Girls Academy and the Kununurra Girls Academy, as well as Karratha Clontarf Academy for young men in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The Clontarf Girls Academy and Kununurra Girls Academy programs are currently based in 12 local secondary schools throughout Western Australia, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The programs focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls in Year 7 through to 12 who experience poverty, sickness, misfortune or disconnectedness from their community, creating environments within schools where the girls receive the support needed to help them realise their full potential. There are currently 900 girls enrolled.
The Clontarf Foundation focuses on improving the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. The Clontarf Foundation establishes partnerships with secondary schools with a key focus on sports, and there are currently 800 boys enrolled in 59 academies across Western Australia, New South Wales, Northern Territory and Victoria. At a local level, Spotless' partnership with the Clontarf Foundation provides young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men with mentoring, professional development and career opportunities with Spotless' customers, including BHP.
